Paul Laszlo for Brown Saltman cerused oak lowboy circa late 1950’s. This example has 6 drawers that are clad in lovely solid oak squares. The entire chest sits on an angled plinth bases.. Please see our other listings for the accompanying highboy.
Both chests have recently been cerused in a dark gray finish with off white wood grain.

Edgar Ewing ‘Anvil’ Oil Painting

Edgar Ewing oil on canvas painting entitled ‘The Anvil’ from 1961. Ewing, a post cubist painter and professor at USC exhibited his works all over the world. This fantastic work was once part of the collection of the Home Savings and Loan in Los Angeles and has an incredible depth of color and texture.

Finish does show some wear and crazing but is stunning and beautifully broken in.
