Rare ‘Budding’ Vase by Axel Salto

Rare large scale budding vase by Axel Salto for Royal Copenhagen circa late 1940’s. This example is done in a dark crimson glaze and is encised Salto on the bottom. The Royal Copenhagen stamp also graces the bottom. Excellent original condition.

Tramp Art Sculpture

Tramp art sculpture circa 1940’s. The column or base of this piece is hand turned and heavily patinated. The mask has a hand painted crown eyes and detailing and a very rich patina to the wood.

Congo Nail Fetish Sculpture

Serpent fetish nail sculpture from the Congo, central Africa circa early 1920’s. The figure has mirrored eyes to house the ancestral spirit or ‘nkisi force’ and patinated nails in the torso. Nails are driven into the effigy during ceremonial ritual with the intention to drive illness from the part of the body in which the nails are inserted.

Grandiose Chrome Propellor

7.5′ solid chrome propellor circa late 1930’s. This example has a great patina and some rusting and would look great wall mounted either verticaly or horizontally.

Rare 19th Century Plumbing Tools

Set of 26 plumbing tools circa 1870’s. These incredible forms range from cylindrical to oblong to plunger looking forms each done in solid wood each with fantastic and deep patina. This grouping belonged to one of our elder client’s grand father and make fantastic sculptures or even a mobile. Price is for the set.

Monumental Jean Rousseau Sodibo Lithograph

Measuring over five feet tall this original Jean Rousseau lithographic poster dates from 1943. The image is of a glamorous 1940’s dame holding a Sodibo beer. This piece is featured on the cover of the book Litfass Bier published in 1998.
