Incredible All Original Sofas by Metropolitan

 All original Metropolitan sofas, circa early 1960s. These examples have their original striped cotton upholstery with hues of oranges off white’s taupe and black. The legs and stretchers are solid walnut. The set is versatile in that it can be arranged in an L and the two sides of the loveseat can be used as chairs.
These are also extremely comfortable. Measurements below are for the three-seater. The two-seat measures 53.5″ long.

Adrian Pearsall platform chair and planter circa early 1970’s. This example has a two tone curnilinear seat that sits atop a walnut and black lacquered platform base. Next to the chair is a square cutout perfect for use as a planter or for a sculpture.

Elegant mohair and walnut plinth based sofa circa mid 1960’s. This example is upholstered in an incredible thick pile burnt umber mohair and has three loose seat cushions and a rolled tight back.

Elegant silk chenille and walnut sofa from Denmark circa late 1950’s. This beautiful example has a subtly curved back and sculpted walnut arms. It has recently been upholstered in a lovely silk chenille.

Mel Bogart for Felmore Associates daybed circa late 1950’s. This example has solid iron hair pin legs and underside and solid oak frame and accents. It has been newly upholstered in a versatile and chic mixed gray textile. The base of the seat cushion pulls out so as to become a sleeper sofa for one.

Free form sofa by H.W. Klein for Brahmin circa late 1950’s. This lovely example has been newly upholstered in a stunning Knoll textile with hues of grays blues and whites. Legs and arm details are solid rosewood. Notice the built in rosewood drawers.
